Sander van Goor is a Dutch music therapist specializing in trauma treatment, particularly with refugee children, youth, and their families. He developed the "Safe & Sound" intervention, integrating music therapy into schools for refugee children in the Netherlands. Sander also conducts training and workshops on trauma, resilience, and music therapy. As a trainer for the NGO Sounds of Change, he has guided professionals on using music in psychosocial support programs in (post-)conflict areas, including Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Turkey, and Greece. Additionally, he serves as a guest lecturer in several master's and bachelor's programs in music therapy. Alongside his therapeutic work, Sander is a passionate musician, playing both the double bass and guitar, as well as various ethnic instruments like the Ney and percussion instruments.
